About David Palmer

David Palmer CIPI F.Inst.L.Ex is a retired police detective, with extensive experience in fraud and criminal investigation. In his ‘spare’ time he developed an interest in personal development, obtaining legal and teaching qualifications which he was able to utilise within both the police service and for the Institute of Professional Investigators.

In-house, he provided personal development and time management training for his colleagues, while taking what he’d learned and writing books – initially for his peers and now, for a broader readership. He has also provided personal leadership training for teenagers in comprehensive schools.

He represented professionals at Home Office and British Standards Institute consultations on private investigator licensing and standards, and he wrote and developed the Institute’s Level III Award for Professional Investigators, and a course for Tracing People.

His books include:

  • The Manual for Professional Investigators
  • Tracing Wanted and Missing Persons
  • The Three Resolutions
  • Police Time Management
  • The Way – Integrity on Purpose
  • How to Create and Use Your Own Paper Planning

He now focuses his time on delivering books and talks on time management and personal leadership.
